چکیده

The energy-momentum relations for massive and massless particles are E = p/2m and E = pc respectively. According to Einstein, these two different expressions come from the same formula E = √ (cp) + mc. Quarks and partons are believed to be the same particles, but they have quite different properties. Are they two different manifestations of the same covariant entity as in the case of Einstein’s energy-momentum relation? The answer to this question is YES. It is possible to construct harmonic oscillator wave functions which can be Lorentz-boosted. They describe quarks bound together inside hadrons. When they are boosted to an infinite-momentum frame, these wave functions exhibit all the peculiar properties of Feynman’s parton picture. This formalism leads to a parton distribution corresponding to the valence quarks, with a good agreement with the experimentally observed distribution. electronic address: [email protected] electronic address: [email protected]

بررسی فرایند انتقال بار در برخورد یون با اتم‌های چند الکترونی با استفاده از تقریب آیکونال در فرمول‌بندی برینکمن- کرامرز

In the present work, the scattering differential cross section has been investigated for ion-multi electron atoms collision in the charge transfer channel. For this purpose, an active electron model was implemented and the collision process was considered as a three-body impact in the high energy range. A semi-classical formalism was used with the eikonal distorted wave function to describe the...

While internal space-time symmetries of relativistic particles are dictated by the little groups of the Poincaré group, it is possible to construct representations of the little group for massive particles starting from harmonic oscillator wave functions for the quark model. The resulting oscillator wave functions are covariant and can be Lorentz-boosted. It is thus possible to obtain the parto...

Calculating charge radius for proton with hyper central interacting color potential

An improved M.I.T. bag model with hyper central interaction is used to calculate the charge radius for proton containing u and d quarks. We present a theoretical approach to the internal structure of three-body hyper central interacting quarks in a proton, in which we take proton as a bag. We discuss a few of results obtained using a six-dimension potential, which is attractive for small separa...

Hypercentral Constituent Quark Model and Isospin for the Baryon Static Properties

So far the static properties of hadrons have been introduced in various models. The static properties of hadrons (charge radius, magnetic moment, etc.) are useful for understanding the quark structure of hadron. In this work we have introduced the hypercentral constituent quark and isospin dependent potentials. Here constituent quarks interact with each other via a potential in which we have ta...

Standing waves in the Lorentz-covariant world

When Einstein formulated his special relativity, he developed his dynamics for point particles. Of course, many valiant efforts have been made to extend his relativity to rigid bodies, but this subject is forgotten in history. This is largely because of the emergence of quantummechanics with wave-particle duality. Instead of Lorentz-boosting rigid bodies, we now boost waves and have to deal wit...
